We don't paint our pots. We mix oxides, stack the kiln, and let the fire decide where the celadon pools and the copper crawls. Every piece leaves the studio one of a kind.
Commission a set →A reactive glaze is never finished by the potter. It is finished by heat, by ash, by the way two oxides meet at 1,280°C.
Reef & Kiln works in flowing celadons and copper-oxide rust — glazes formulated to move, pool and crackle in the kiln rather than sit flat. We throw small, fire slow, and accept what the fire returns. No two surfaces are the same, and that is the whole point.
Each glaze is a recipe and a behaviour — how it breaks over an edge, where it crawls, what it does to the clay beneath.
Filter by form. Each batch is glazed together so the surfaces share a firing — siblings, not copies.

Reactive-glaze commissions open in small windows each season. Send the brief — service size, glaze, the room it lives in — and we'll send back a kiln slot and a quote.
