Mara Solis works at the threshold of painting and material investigation, building surfaces that accumulate and recede, accumulate and collapse. In this new series — her most ambitious to date — she explores the moment before form settles: the suspended instant when pigment, medium, and atmosphere are still negotiating. The result is painting that feels geological in patience and atmospheric in presence.
